Painting the Sainte-Victoire

Pour faire suite à mon post précédent, je voudrais partager avec vous la peinture aquarelle que j’ai fait sur la colline de Lauves (en Provence).

Following my previous post, I’d like to share with you the little watercolor painting I made while sitting on the Lauves hill (in Provence).

Postcards from Provence ~

J’ai passé les derniers quelques jours en Provence, pour le deuxième novembre consécutif. Comme le temps commence à devenir très froid à Grenoble pendant cette saison, aller vers le sud prolonge un peu l’automne. Il fait plus chaud, plus ensoleillé; le feuillage est plus vif. Si vous vous trouvez en Aix vers le fin de novembre, comme j’étais l’année dernière, le marché de Noël sera déjà ouvert (et donc vous pourrez boire du vin chaud quand c’est pas encore possible à Gre !). En Aix-en-Pce, comme artiste, je pars immédiatement pour le Terrain des Peintres et l’atelier Cézanne (20 mins à pied nord d’Aix) parce que je le trouve inspirant et reposant. Voici quelques photos via Instagram (@grenobloise) prises pendant mon séjour dans cette région adorée de France.

I spent the last few days in Provence, for the second November in a row. As weather starts getting real cold in Grenoble this time’a year, heading south can prolong autumn. It’s warmer, sunnier; the foliage brighter. If you happen to be in Aix towards the end of November, as I was last year, the Christmas market will be up already (which means: you can drink vin chaud when it’s not yet possible in Gre-town!). In Aix-en-Pce, as an artist, I immediately head to the Painter’s Ground and Cézanne’s studio (20 mins walk north of Aix) because I find it inspiring and relaxing. Here are some of my photos taken via Instagram (@grenobloise) from my stay in this enamored region of France.

À Grenoble: Y’a du boulot !

Y’a du boulot… Je parle de Grenobloise et de Grenoble-même ! Je n’ai pas updaté mon blog récemment, car je suis très occupée. Tout d’abord: le 14 juillet était magnifique! Les feux d’artifice étaient mieux que jamais. Le concert gratuit, On Dirait le Sud, était fantastique. Cette semaine, c’est Cabaret Frappé. Je n’étais pas en vacances; j’ai travaillé, cherché du travail, peint et perfectionné quelques recettes coréennes (photos ci-dessous). J’ai aussi passé 2 jours en Provence et à Marseille cette semaine. À propos de vacances, je pars à Edimbourg la semaine prochaine !

Y’a du boulot (Lots of work to do)… I’m talking about Grenobloise and Grenoble city! I have not updated lately due to quite a few things that are going on. I must say quickly; Bastille day was great! The fireworks show in parc Paul Mistral was as amazing as ever. The free concert On Dirait le Sud was fantastic. This week is Cabaret Frappé. I have not been away on vacation; I have been working, job-hunting, painting and perfecting a few Korean recipes (see below).  I also spent two days in Provence and Marseille this week. Speaking of vacation, I am going to Edinburgh next week!

Et, à propos de Grenoble: il y a des travaux partout, et ça avance rapidement ! La nouvelle ligne de tram E (et le pont), l’extension de la ligne B pour faciliter l’accès à la presqu’île, l’aménagement des quais (voir photos), le nouveau quartier à Bouchayer Viallet, entre autres, il y a beaucoup de choses qui arrivent. Je ne parle même pas du futur téléphérique qui ira de Fontaine à Lans-en-Vercors !

In regards to the work going on in Grenoble: there is construction going on everywhere, and it’s moving quickly! From the new E tram line (and bridge), the extension of tram B to create easy accessibility to the Grenoble presqu’île, the construction along the quai (see below), the new neighborhood at Bouchayer Viallet, among others, there’s a lot to be excited about in Grenoble. I didn’t even mention the future plan to build a cable car that goes from Fontaine to Lans-en-Vercors!

May: Month of Love, Nature and Art

Pardonnez mon absence, mes chèrs amis qui suivent Grenobloise. J’avais voyagé et mangé souvant ces jours, comme d’habitude, et j’ai plusiers chose de vous montrer, mais c’est pour ça je n’avais pas eu du temps de partager mes petites trouvailles sur ce blog. En plus, je suppose que le changement de pays veut dire des problèmes avec les allergies. Comme fou ! Pour la plupart de cette année j’avais été malade, et je suis quelqu’un très active et normalement de bonne santé.

Pardon my absence, my chèr Grenobloise readers (or, shall I say watchers, as I post mostly pics!). I have been traveling and eating as per usual, and have more things to share than ever, which means less time for le blog. En plus, I have been sick for most of the year. I suppose changing countries also means allergy problems. Comme fou ! For most of this year I have been sick, and I am someone who is quite active and usually very healthy.

Bon, pour retourner au sujet plus agréable de ce post, c’est le mois de mai, et mai est mon mois préféré de l’année !  Je vais bientôt partager des photos belles de ce mois. J’avais fait de la peinture aussi, et j’ai plusiers peintures en progrès à ce moment. Voici deux photos d’avant et après d’un de mes aquarelles (inspiré par un bouquet des fleurs).

Bon, returning to the more pleasant subject of this blog post, it is May, and May is my favorite month! I will soon share some beautiful photos I’ve taken this month in upcoming posts. I have also been making art, and I have many paintings going on at the same time. Here are two before and after shots of a current watercolor that is almost finished (inspired by a bouquet of flowers).

Une New-Yorkaise peint… Grenoble! / A New Yorker paints… Grenoble!

Je viens de finir ma première peinture de Grenoble ! Je travaille sur une nouvelle série de tableaux dans mon petit atelier au centre ville de Grenoble.

I have just finished my first painting of Grenoble! I am working on a brand new body of work in my beautiful little studio in Grenoble’s city center.
