Les fleurs printanières de Charmant Som…

« April showers bring May flowers » comme on dit en anglais. Normalement, je vais au Charmant Som pour voir les vaches (et pour la beauté du lieu… mais surtout les vaches !), mais en mai dernier (trop tôt dans la saison pour les animaux de la ferme) j’ai découvert les fleurs printanières du Charmant Som. Mon premier printemps en France: c’est merveilleux de voir la flore sauvage (alpin) pour la première fois. Vivant dans un nouveau pays, on est comme un enfant: on apprend des nouveaux mots d’une langue ainsi que les nouvelles images comme les fleurs, les plantes, les paysages et les animaux.

“April showers bring May flowers” as we say in English. Normally, I visit Charmant Som to see the cows (and for the beauty… but mainly for the cows !), but this past May (too early in the season for the farm animals) I discovered the Spring flowers of Charmant Som. My very first Spring in France: It’s wonderfully to see the wild Alpine flora for the first time. When living in a new country one is like a child: learning a new language as well as taking in new imagery such as flowers, plants, landscapes and animals.

Charmant Som: Cow Paradise!

There’s a lot of beauty to appreciate in the Chartreuse mountain range. There’s watching the paragliders take off over Crolles and visiting the old Fort du Saint-Eynard (which also has an adorable restaurant). There’s a lot to see. Recently, I visited a place that may beat everything I’ve seen so far: Charmant Som. Why? Possibly due to my love for farm animals. All I know is, when I think about Charmant Som, I feel like my heart flutters. Photos:
